Welcome To Food and Nutrition Research Laboratory


Overview:

Food, Nutrition and Agriculture Research is one of the 13 research discipline of CARS located in the 5th floor of the building and is equipped with food quality and safety research facilities. This research area will foresee research activities, provide guidelines and approved fiscal year budget to run the laboratory. . It creates a programmatic focus to multidisciplinary research (Microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry, nutrition, agriculture sector) that helps to attract new faculty and external funding. It also creates demands for incremental university resources in the form of funding, space, and/or administration. This entity directly and indirectly influences the interactions, program directions, and priorities of faculty and graduate students and their relationships to their academic departments.

Services:

1.     1. Conducting thesis of MS, M.Phil. and Ph.D. students in collaboration with various Departments of the faculty of Biological Sciences, of the University of Dhaka in the above-mentioned research area.

 2. Providing analytical support in microbiological(Pathogen detection in food, total aerobic count, total coliform count, E.coli count in food, antibacterial assay) and chemical contaminants (antibiotics residues, heavy metal and pesticide residues) presence in food, water, feed and environment sector
