Congratulations to Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Laboratory for initiating a Collaboration with University of Edinburgh, UK

Congratulations to Dr. Gazi Nurun Nahar Sultana, Chief Scientist of the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Laboratory of CARS for becoming the PI of the international project titled "Genetics of Mortality in Critical Care". The project has been approved by the University of Edinburgh, UK, and a link(https://genomicc.org/countries/bangladesh/) has been uploaded as part of the GENOMICC consortium's partner country. Dr. Mamun-Al-Mahtab, Professor, Hepatology Department, BSMMU, Dhaka will be the Co-PI of the Project. This study aims to identify genetic predisposition to specific syndromes of critical illness and outbreaks or exposures of public health interest. Specifically, susceptibility to life-threatening infections caused by an identified pathogen, and susceptibility to death following the onset of organ failure due to sepsis or sterile injury.
